Young teenager knocked to ground by car on Dundee road

The youngsters were seen heading in the direction of Earn Crescent.

Police are looking to track down a teenager after he was knocked down on a Dundee road.

The youngster was struck by a grey VW Golf on Charleston Drive, between the junction of Spey Drive and Etive Gardens, at around 12.20pm today.

The boy, described as in his early-mid teens and wearing black trousers and a black hoody, fell to the ground and was helped away by a group of friends.

They were seen heading in the direction of Earn Crescent.

Officers say the car driver could not have avoided the youngster and did the right thing by calling police.

An appeal has now been launched to trace the boy who left the scene without being checked over.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “While the driver of the car could not have avoided this collision and has stopped to notify police of the incident, we need to trace the boy who was involved, in order to make sure that he is not injured and does not require medical attention.

“If you saw this incident or have knowledge of who the boy we need to trace is, please call 101 or speak with any police officer. Our reference is incident number 1218 of February.”
