Xplore Dundee says it has alerted “the authorities” after yobs caused bus services to be called off for the third day running.
The bus firm posted on Facebook at 7pm last night that services 9,10 and 33 had been withdrawn from Lothian Crescent in Whitfield “due to safety concerns in the area”.
These services were also called off on Monday and Tuesday evenings, amid reports of “dangerous antisocial behaviour”.
On Monday a group of youths had been seen causing disturbances near new North East Campus. Stones were also thrown at buses and passing traffic.
Drivers have frequently encountered trouble from gangs of youths hurling stones in the area.
Last night’s statement said: “The matter is ongoing, and has been reported to the authorities.
“The decision to withdraw services is never taken lightly but, in this case, is necessary to ensure the safety of our passengers, drivers and others.”
