A woman was rescued this afternoon after following her dog into a Tayside river.
Police officers and firefighters were called to an incident in the Blair Atholl area of Perthshire just before 5pm today.
A woman had fallen into the River Tilt after her dog plunged into the water.
Three fire engines and six water rescue teams left Perth Fire Station at 4.55pm to attend to the incident.
Police cars also headed up the A9 to help mount a possible rescue operation.
But by the time they had arrived the woman had been helped out of the river and was safe and well.
It is not known if a passer-by came to her assistance.
