A 28-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the alleged murder of Annalise Johnstone.

Ms Johnstone, 22, from Ardrossan in Ayrshire, was found in a wooded area at the side of the B8062 between Dunning and Auchterarder in Perthshire on May 10.

Her brother Jordan Johnstone, 24, was charged with her murder and appeared in court the same month, having been arrested in Dundee.

He made no plea and the case was fully committed for trial.

However, officers revealed a further development in the case.

A force spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the 28 year old woman arrested in connection with the alleged murder of 22 year Annalise Johnstone has now been charged.”

The woman, who was arrested in Inchture, was due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court today.
