Dundee’s U/20s’ title challenge ended with a 4-2 defeat to Hearts last night.
The young Dark Blues went into the clash at Links Park on the back of 12 games unbeaten — a run that stretched all the way back to November.
Following leaders Hibs’ victory yesterday, Dundee needed a win to take the title race into the final week of the season.
They couldn’t manage that, however, as the Jambos moved up to third place in the league.
Craig Wighton did give the home side the lead early on, firing home after seven minutes.
Hearts levelled through Rory Currie as the game headed to half-time before Cedwyn Scott kept up his scoring run by putting the Dark Blues 2-1 up on 53 minutes.
Lewis Moore quickly equalised before Aidan Keena made it 3-2 after 65 minutes.
Things got worse for the Dee as Randy Wolters saw red for dissent before Connor Smith sealed the win with 15 minutes to go.
