Warning after spate of thefts from Dundee homes

Police are reminding residents to lock their cars and homes following, a spate of thefts from houses and vehicles across the city.

Two homes in Broughty Ferry were raided on Monday night, with break-ins reported in Strathspey Place and Arbroath Road.

In both raids, cash and several personal items were stolen.

The break-ins follow a number of reports of thefts from vehicles around Gillburn Road, in the Kirkton area of the city.

Tayside Police Division urged residents to keep their doors locked at all times and have to security systems installed to ensure homes are safe from theft.

Valuables should be kept out of sight of windows.

Car owners are also being warned to never leave their cars unattended while defrosting windows or paying for petrol, and keep vehicles parked off the street where possible, in a driveway, garage or private car park.
