A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed officers were called to the scene but added that no one was arrested.
He said: “We had a call at 8.50pm with reports of a group of males fighting outside a bakery on the Hilltown.
“The reports said 10 people were fighting. A second phone call related to the incident reported two males fighting not far from the area.

Folk online had differing views as to whether people should have stopped to help or not.
One posted: “Why did no cars stop to help him? So many people just driving past.”
While another said: “That’s one of the problems with Dundee. Nobody looks out for anyone even though they say they would but to drive past an old man getting assaulted is disgusting.”
But someone else wrote: “People don’t stop for the simple reason these idiots might pull out a blade. There’s no telling with these nutters these days.”
