Many listeners believe they heard a BBC commentator utter a swear word in relation to Dundee FC.

Liam McLeod was commentating during Aberdeen’s 4-1 victory over Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup yesterday when he appeared to utter a swear word.

The journalist was referencing the Doonhamers’ 3-0 trouncing of Jim McIntyre’s team in the previous round, when it sounded like he had said they “****** Dundee”.

A post describing the apparent blunder has been viewed 70,000 times with many speculating on what had been said.

It is most likely that McLeod, who had been describing the inconsistency that had blighted Gary Naysmith’s men this season, actually said: “They thumped Dundee to get through to this tie against Aberdeen.”
