VIDEO: Lochee United have one foot in Scottish Cup final after late drama

This is the moment Lochee United gave themselves a huge advantage going into the Junior Scottish Cup semi-final.

With the game tied at 0-0, Connor Birse burst forward and netted a stoppage time winner against Auchinleck Talbot.

Birse, whose hat-trick in the previous round helped The Bluebells reach this stage, did well to slot the ball past the onrushing keeper with added pressure from the Talbot defence breathing down his neck.

The victory was even sweeper for the Dundee side after keeper Mark Fotheringham saved a penalty early in the second half.

Lochee will take their 1-0 lead back to Thomson Park for the second leg this weekend.

Despite their advantage, George Shields’ team will have to be a the top of their game with eleven-time cup winners Talbot looking to spoil the party.

A bumper crowd is expected on Saturday.
