A video clip has emerged of a Dundee city centre church being struck by lightning.
The dramatic clip was sent in to the Tele by reader Ben Macfarlane during the height of last night’s dramatic thunderstorm.
Ben was innocuously filming the downpour, from Victoria Road, when a lightning fork suddenly reaches down and catches the church’s steeple.
The clip is just one of many instances of extreme weather caught on camera around the city last night.

The storm made it’s way over Dundee at around 8pm with torrential rain causing havoc on city streets.
Dens Road saw severe flooding. Motorists were filmed near to the roundabout at Dura Street trying to navigate through the street which was covered in water.

Elsewhere, St Leonard’s Place in St Mary’s was left saturated. Images sent in to the Tele show the road completely submerged in water, narrowly avoiding homes.
Meanwhile, a drain at The Stack in Lochee was left spouting out water, unable to cope with the amount of rain. Some joked on social media that the impromptu water feature was a new attraction for the site.
