It hasn’t taken former Dundee goal machine Kane Hemmings to open his account at new club Oxford United.
The 25-year-old found the net for The U’s just before half-time to level the game.
The striker’s first touch set him up nicely for a sweet finish from the edge of the box, which hit the inside of the post and into the net.
Yesterday’s League One clash was Hemmings first start in the yellow jersey.
But his day was bittersweet as ten-man Oxford went down 2-1 at Bristol Rovers. Hemmings told the Oxford Mail: “I’m more worried about the points.
“I think we were down on a few departments, maybe the intensity wasn’t there that we usually show.”
He added: “It’s never easy to play with ten men, especially after a tough week physically.”
Hemmings made his debut for Oxford in the 1-1 draw with Chesterfield and three days later featured for the majority of the League Cup tie as his side knocked out Championship Birmingham City.
