VIDEO: Dundee United skipper Flood appeals for return of fan Liam Colgan

Dundee United captain Willo Flood has appealed for a Scot who went missing on a stag do in Hamburg to return home safely.

Liam Colgan, from Inverness, was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning in the German city, ahead of his brother’s wedding in March.

The 29-year-old has not been seen since 1.30am on Saturday in the Hamborger Veermaster bar in the Reeperbahn area.

Police became involved in the search when he failed to show up for activities on the Saturday afternoon.

Dundee United, who Liam was apparently a fan of, have taken to social media in a bid to help find the Scot.

Issuing a plea to Liam, club captain Willo Flood said: “This is an appeal for everyone out there to share this video and help bring Liam Colgan home safe.

“Liam’s family have asked that everyone share this to raise awareness.

“They want him home safe and sound.

“Liam, if you see this buddy, get in touch as soon as possible.”

Mr Colgan is around 6ft with a slim build and ginger hair. When last seen, he was wearing a brown leather jacket and a grey hoodie.

A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said: “We are in contact with the German police after a British man was reported missing in Hamburg, Germany.

“We are providing advice and assistance to his family.”
