An electrical fault caused a car to go up in flames on a main Dundee road.
Emergency services were called to the inferno outside Tesco on Riverside Drive just before 6pm yesterday.
A video of the blaze shows a small explosion as smoke billows into the night’s sky.
Part of the road was completely closed off by police while the incident was being dealt with.
It took firefighters around 40 minutes to douse the flames.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received the initial call at 5.58pm. After that there were numerous calls from the public.
“One appliance from Blackness fire station attended. One main jet was used with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
“The stop message came in at 6.40pm.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “It was down to an electrical fault.
“Officers attended the scene and diverted traffic from the area.”
The fire-ravaged vehicle was then recovered from the scene and the road fully re-opened a short time later.
