An Oor Wullie bought at a charity auction on behalf of the Broughty Ferry community has been hit by vandals.
Oor Lifesaver was placed on the pier next the the lifeboat house on Fisher Street.
However, in the last few days the popular sculpture has become the target of stone-throwing vandals.
The Wullie, which featured as part of the popular Bucket Trail last summer, has now been taken away for repairs.
The new location for the statue has yet to be formalised but the lifeboat crew said it will be kept in a “safe place”.
A statement added: “It’s a bit of a sad day when we have to take action like this. He’s still going to be in the Ferry and we will post his location over the next few days.
“Thanks for the love for Oor Lifesaver and remember he’s a precious part of our community.”
