Five hundred young people from across the city are set to bring a stomping start to the opening of V&A Dundee on Friday.
The youngsters will perform a dance alongside a cast of nine professional contemporary dancers and three guest dancers from Scottish Ballet.
Rehearsals for the specially commissioned performance, part of the 3D Festival, have been taking place at Dundee and Angus College and the University of Dundee’s playing fields. About 250 of the performers gathered at the playing fields to practise and to give people a taste of what’s to come.
The event is choreographed by Thomas Small, the artistic director of Shaper/Caper and 70 of the dancers are training at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance: D&A College.
Thomas said: “The pure energy of the performance is so exhilarating and we cannot wait to showcase what we’ve spent months developing.
“This has been the craziest and largest jigsaw to bring together but we can promise it will be nothing short of spectacular on the night.”
