A man has been taken to hospital after a major incident near Dundee city centre.
Police were called to the foot of the Hilltown around 4pm following reports of a stabbing.
Issuing a statement at the scene, Detective Sergeant Graeme Wishart confirmed a 37-year-old male had been taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A large number of police vehicles were seen at the scene with a section of the road sealed off near to the pedestrian crossing over from the Wellgate Centre.
A statement from the force said the road has been closed.
It read: “Police Scotland are currently dealing with an ongoing incident in the Hilltown, Dundee, which will remain closed until inquiries have been completed.”
