Nearly £3,000 was raised for foodbanks in Dundee at a charity collection at Tannadice Park just before Christmas.

Fans were invited to make donations outside the ground before Dundee United’s game against Livingston on Saturday December 23.

A total of 626kg of food and £2,800 was donated to the effort. It was split between the organisers Dundee Foodbank and Taught By Muhammad outreach programme and foodbank.

The two foodbanks supply food to people in need, arranged in conjunction with referral partners.

The Christmas appeal was also backed by Dundee United with support from the ArabTRUST.
