Two women arrested and charged after fracas in Dundee pub

Two women were arrested following a disturbance at a city-centre pub.

Police were called to the Pillars Bar on Crichton Street shortly before midnight on Friday.

The women – who are both in their 20s – were arrested and charged in connection with the disturbance.

An eyewitness said he saw a police presence outside the pub following the incident inside the venue.

He said: “It was hard to see exactly what was going on. I know the pub so I was surprised to see the police outside.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers attended a disturbance at a bar on Crichton Street shortly before midnight on Friday.

“Two women, aged 23 and 26, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“They were released from custody on an undertaking to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court at a later date.”
