Two teenagers held after local shop targeted for second time in six days

Two teenagers have been detained following a break-in to a Tayside shop.

Scotmid in Invergowrie was broken into at around 1am today.

It comes after the Main Street store was allegedly raided last Wednesday.

A 21-year-old was due to appear in court in connection with last week’s incident while a 15-year-old has been reported to the Youth Justice Assessor.

In today’s break-in, a window was smashed at the front of the store.

It is not known what items were taken from the shop.

Police Scotland confirmed two teens — aged 15 and 17 — have been held in connection with today’s incident.

A spokesman for the force said: “Police Scotland can confirm it is dealing with a break-in and theft from a store in Invergowrie which happened shortly after 1am this morning. Two males aged 15 and 17 have been detained in connection with the incident and are currently assisting with inquiries.”

One witness said:  “I cannot believe it has happened again.”
