Two men have appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court accused of robbery and attempted robbery.
Jamie Duncan, 37, of Peddie Street and Anthony Holmes, 46, of Lansdowne Court, are accused of robbing two members of staff at Ladbrokes on Perth Road on Sunday of £220 in cash.
The pair are also accused of, on the same day at William Hill on Buttars Loan, attempting to rob two members of staff there by presenting a knife and a wooden baton or similar at them and demanding money; and at Scotmid on Main Street, Invergowrie, attempting to rob two members of staff by presenting a wooden baton or similar at them and stating they were in possession of a knife and demanding money.
Prosecutors allege that Holmes was on bail at the time of the alleged offences.
They made no plea and were remanded in custody.
The case was continued for further examination.
