TRYING TO FIND: Two women who rescued Kingsway assault victim

Two women came to the aid of a woman who was allegedly assaulted on Kingsway East, Dundee.

Police Scotland is appealing for information about an incident which happened beside the pedestrian footbridge over the dual carriageway, between 7.30am and 8pm on Wednesday January 16.

A woman was allegedly assaulted by a man near the bottom of the stairs on the south side of the footbridge, near Old Craigie Road.

A police statement said: “We are following positive lines of enquiry regarding the incident. However, officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

“In particular, we would like to trace two women who stopped their car and assisted the victim by taking her away from the area and dropping her at a safe location.

“If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer. Information can also be given anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/1334/19.”
