Visitors to St Andrews have always expected world-class golf but now the Fife town can also claim to host one of the world’s best B&Bs.
The 34 Argyle Guesthouse has been named as the sixth-best bed and breakfast in the world by internet tourist guide TripAdvisor.
The St Andrews business was also named as the third-best B&B in Europe, pipping Perth counterpart The Fitzroy by five places.
Meanwhile, staff at Pitlochry’s Knockendarroch Hotel will need to clear some space on the mantelpiece after receiving three awards.
The luxury retreat was named as the seventh most romantic hotel in the UK, 14th in the UK’s best small hotels category, and 24th in the sector for best service.
