St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright admits he is perplexed by speculation linking him to the managerial vacancy at Dundee United.
The Tannadice club are looking for a new boss after Mixu Paatelainen was dismissed following relegation from the Ladbrokes Premiership.
Raith Rovers boss Ray McKinnon looks increasingly like being the man who will take over in the summer.
However, the bookies have also installed Wright, who United tried and failed to land before appointing Paatelainen in October, as second favourite for the job
But that has come as a surprise to the Northern Irishman.
Wright said: “I don’t know why my name has been mentioned. I can only see one name getting it.
“I don’t know why my name would be mentioned when I’ve just signed a three-year contract.
“We are still in the Premiership, so I am puzzled by it all.
“I’m happy here, that’s why I signed my new deal. I’m here for another three seasons and the chairman has already indicated that we want to try to push on.
“I want the club to move forward because I am ambitious. And having spoken to the chairman here, I know the club is ambitious as well.”
