A thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of the local area today.
The yellow alert issued by the Met Office will come into force at 12pm today and will remain in affect until 7pm.
The area covered includes parts of Angus.
The forecaster is warning of heavy thundery showers and a risk of localised flooding.
Other potential impacts of the weather include:
- Some flooding of a few homes and businesses possible, leading to some damage to buildings or structures
- There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus
- Delays to train services are possible
- Some short term loss of power and other services is likely
