Thug broke frail OAP’s arm in Dundee after she reported him to cops

A thug who broke a “vulnerable” OAP’s arm after she went to police and alleged he had stolen £20 has been jailed.

Wayne Allan attacked the frail 74-year-old at her home in Fintry on April 6.

She had gone to police accusing him of stealing the cash from her home.

He was interviewed by police and denied the allegation.

Two days later he went to her house to remonstrate with her.

Fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson told Dundee Sheriff Court that Allan shoved the pensioner three times. The third of those knocked her back, breaking her arm.

Allan, 46, a prisoner at Perth, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault to severe injury.

His solicitor, Grant Bruce, said: “He is horrified he has caused her this injury.”

Sheriff Alastair Carmichael jailed Allan for 21 months and said: “This was a nasty assault.”
