Three men are due to appear in court after armed police stormed a Dundee street.
Balaclava-clad firearms officers swooped on a vehicle on the city’s Perth Road around 6.30pm on Sunday.
Stunned restaurant goers watched on as officers had their guns drawn and numerous police vehicles flooded the street.
The road was sealed off between Union Place and Hawkhill for around half an hour at about 6.30pm.
The men were later arrested and led away by officers.
Today, police have said the men will appear at Dundee Sheriff Court tomorrow in connection with alleged offences relating to weapons.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that three men aged 46, 43 and 40 who were arrested in Perth Road on Sunday November 18 have been charged with offences relating to offensive weapons.
“They are due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.”
No weapons were discharged during the operation, police said last night , and no one was injured.
