Three people have been arrested after a woman was taken to hospital following an alleged fight in the Menzieshill area of Dundee on Tuesday night.
Emergency services were called to Spey Drive just after 5pm following reports of a disturbance.
A large police presence could be seen as officers sealed off an area around a block of flats.
A large number of blood stains could also be seen on the pavement outside an address in Spey Drive yesterday morning.
People living near the scene of the disturbance told the Tele that they had heard shouting and screaming.
Rob Brown, 57, said: “I heard a lot of raised voices coming from inside a block of flats.
“I then saw a woman come out on to the street followed by a small group of other people.
“There was a lot of shouting and screaming going on and the woman seemed to be bleeding from a head wound.
“Not long after, the police and an ambulance arrived.
“The woman was seen to by paramedics and put into the ambulance.
“I saw the police speaking to two men who also seemed to have been involved.”
Another woman said she heard banging and was then aware of police arriving in the street.
She said: “There seemed to have been a fight of some kind.
“I was aware that a woman had been taken away in an ambulance.
“Police sealed off the entry to the block of flats during the incident and were seen to be questioning neighbours and people who had been passing by.”
The extent of the woman’s injuries are unknown but are understood not to be serious.
However, it is believed she was bleeding from the face and head before being taken to hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesman said that two men and a woman had been detained following the incident that started around 5pm.
He said: “Emergency services were called to Spey Drive around 5pm yesterday amid reports of a disturbance between two men and a woman.
“One woman was taken to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance with injuries to her face and head.
“The extent of her injuries are unknown at this point but they are not believed to be serious.
“Police officers apprehended two men and a woman at the scene. Inquiries are continuing.”
A police spokeswoman added: “We can confirm that two men aged 40 and 42 and a woman aged 38 were arrested and charged and are expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.”
