Police are investigating the death of a 43-year-old man who fell from the window of a flat.
The man, who has not been named, died after the incident at Balgay Road near the corner with Blackness Road in the West End of the city.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene.
A spokesman for the force today said there were no suspicious circumstances.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
One eyewitness said that he saw police cars and ambulances descend on the street in the early hours of Saturday.
He said: “Several police cars and an ambulance arrived. The emergency services were on the street for some time.
“Apparently, a man in his 40s had fallen from the window of a block of flats several floors up.
“People from the emergency services were crowded around him.
“It was a really shocking thing to see and must have been very upsetting for everyone involved.
“I feel very sorry for the man’s family.”
West End councillor Fraser Macpherson said he was shocked to hear about the man’s death.
Mr Macpherson said: “I am very saddened to hear about the death of this young man.
“This is tragic news and my thoughts are with the family and friends of the person concerned.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Officers attended at Balgay Road in the early hours of Saturday after the sudden death of a 43-year-old man.
“There are no suspicious circumstances.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
