A thief posed as a Good Samaritan helping an unconscious teenage girl – then stole her handbag.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident at Dallfield Court in the Hilltown.
Residents said the 15-year-old had fainted in a communal close before the culprit snatched her bag and fled the scene.
It is understood he had stopped to help the teen before making off with her bag. The victim was taken to a flat in the block before being treated by paramedics.
One resident said a man and a woman had checked on the girl after she collapsed, before the thief – described as a man in his 30s – grabbed her bag and ran off.
She is then understood to have got back to her feet before a resident came and helped her into one of the flats.
Another resident said that she was “shocked” to hear what had happened.
She said: “I’m absolutely disgusted to hear that someone did this to a girl while she needed medical help.”
