A Tayside school had to be evacuated today after a fire broke out in the building.
Pupils at Perth High were moved to the school playing fields after the alarm was raised before 11am.
It’s believed smoke from the fire filtered through into the gym hall
Fire crews using breathing apparatus and hose-reels extinguished the blaze.
The fire was out by 11.20am but crews remained on the scene for a time after to ventilate the building.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 10:46am and two appliances were sent to Perth High School.
“A small fire was found and we received a stop call at 11:20am.”
There have been no reported injuries and the Scottish Ambulance Service did not attend the scene.
Perth & Kinross Council has been approached for comment.
The school sits on the western edge of the city and holds over 1,400 pupils.
