The Tay Road Bridge has reopened following a two-hour closure.
Gale-force winds put the crossing off limits to all between 10.50am and 12.50pm.
The decision was taken when wind speeds reached 80mph, triggering the protocol that the bridge has to close to all vehicles.
Buses, high-sided vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians have been banned from the bridge since 6am when speeds reached 60mph.
A spokesman for the Tay Road Bridge Joint Board said they had taken the decision after wind speeds were recorded at 82.4mph.
The spokesman later added the bridge reopened but only to cars with a 30mph speed limit.
