The pedestrian lift at Tay Road Bridge is to close for up to eight weeks while a replacement is being installed.
The new facility will service the bridge walkway from the Urban Arts Space (painted columns below the bridge plaza).
A bridge statement said: “This project will undoubtedly improve the reliability issues that we have recently experienced with the existing lift.
“Unfortunately this does mean that there will be no lift available to serve the walkway for a period of up to eight weeks from this Monday (September 24) while local contractor Caltech Lifts Ltd remove the old lift and install and commission the new lift.
“The Tay Road Bridge would like to apologise to our users whilst this essential work is undertaken.”
Anyone needing assistance to reach the walkway should call 01382 433044 Option 0 and speak to a control room supervisor.
