Emergency services are currently in attendance on Riverside Drive in Dundee after a suspicious package washed up on the banks of the River Tay.
Police and fire crew attended a small road close to the Bridgeview Station restaurant shortly after 2pm this afternoon.
Passersby said a package was discovered on the waterfront, roughly the size of a binocular case.
The package was reportedly opened and appeared to have had several other smaller packages inside.
A spokeswoman for the force said the area is currently cordoned off but there is no immediate threat to the wider public.
She added police were carrying out checks in the area.
One appliance from Blackness Fire Station also attended the scene after receiving a call this afternoon.
A spokesman for the service said they have been stood down and police are dealing with the matter.
