Sun had its hat on for Ladies Day

Perth Racecourse hosted one of its most popular events of the year yesterday.

Ladies Day, which sees thousands of revellers from across Tayside and beyond descend on the Scone venue, took place in glorious sunshine.

The event is seen as one of the highlights of the region’s social calendar.

There was lots of eye-catching fashion on show, while the crowds enjoyed seven races, including the totepool Happy Perth Ladies Day Handicap Chase.

Ladies Day has grown in recent years to become one of the racecourse’s biggest events, attracting people from all over Scotland.

Among those soaking up the sun and the atmosphere were (above) Sasha Marshall, 18, (right) from Fintry, who was celebrating her birthday, and 29-year-old Ami McIntosh, from Dundee city centre.
