Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam ‘can’t wait’ to play for Dundee once more

Charlie Adam points to the heavens after scoring for Dundee.

Charlie Adam is set to relive his ‘dream’ by playing for Dundee FC once more.

The English Premier League ace – and Dundee fan – will play for a Dens Park XI in Dave Mackay’s testimonial match next week.

Adam, 31, pulled on a dark blue jersey in Julian Speroni’s Crystal Palace testimonial in 2015.

He will do the same again featuring in an all-star line-up that will take on St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park.

Last night, the Stoke City midfielder tweeted:

Other players to form part of the one-off Dundee team include current management team of Neil McCann and Graham Gartland, Rab Douglas, cult hero Gary Harkins, Barry Smith, Steven Milne and Championship goal hero Peter MacDonald.

Dave Mackay, who started his career at Dens Park, spent seven years at St Johnstone with the highlight being the 2014 Scottish Cup win over Dundee United.

Tickets for next Friday’s game are £15 for adults and £5 for kids and OAPs.
