Defender Steven Caulker has sensationally left Dundee – with the Dark Blues announcing the news 15 minutes before the transfer deadline.
The 26-year-old “triggered a clause in his contract” allowing him to leave, the club said.
A statement read: “Dundee Football Club can confirm that Steven Caulker has this evening parted company with the club.
“Steven has triggered a release clause in his contract to leave before the end of the transfer window in search of a new challenge.
“We would like to thank Steven for his efforts whilst at club and wish him all the best for the future.”
Caulker’s brief spell at Dundee was not without controversy.
The club previously said they rejected a club record bid for the England international from Rosenborg.
In the summer he was sent home from Dundee’s preseason trip to Portugal – however the Dark Blues insisted this was down to an ankle injury.
