Police have issued a statement after a fatal accident on a main road in Angus.
Police and ambulance crews were called to an accident on the the A94 near Eassie Muir in the Forfar area at around 1.20pm today.
A statement said: “A 68 year old man has sadly died following a road traffic collision on the A94 Perth To Forfar Road at its junction with the road to Hatton of Eassie at around 1.25pm today, Friday, 15 February.
“The collision involved three vehicles including a red Ford Transit, a black Renault Kangoo and a black VW Polo.
“The man who died was the driver of the Renault Kangoo. The other two drivers were minorly injured.”
Road Policing Sergeant Craig McBean said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has sadly died. I can confirm his next of kin have been updated. Further details will be issued in due course.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision or who saw any of the vehicles involved to contact police on 101 using reference number 1890 of 15 February.”
The road was closed as officers continued to make enquiries. Local diversions were in place.
