Trains have been halted on one of Tayside’s main railway lines this morning.
An investigation is under way after a broken rail was reported close to Dunkeld and Birnam Railway Station, halting services between Perth and Pitlochry.
A ScotRail statement said: “Network Rail staff are in site investigating. We’re only able to run train services between Edinburgh/Glasgow & Perth, and between Pitlochry & Inverness.”
The company added: “We’ve requested a number of buses to replace trains between Perth & Pitlochry. You can also travel by train between Perth & Inverness via Aberdeen.”
