Support staff at Dundee & Angus College went on strike today in a dispute over pay.
Jennifer Dick, Unison shop steward for the college, claimed support staff were fed up being treated as “second class citizens”.
She said that support staff — who include janitors, cleaners and catering staff — were being offered a flat pay rise of £230 compared to £450 for teaching staff.
Staff were striking at D&A College campuses at Gardyne, Kingsway and Arbroath.
A spokeswoman for Colleges Scotland Employers’ Association said: “Their demands come at a time when many Unison members received above inflation pay rises earlier this year.”
