A soldier accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend has been banned from entering Dundee.

Sheriff Derek Reekie told Matthew Williams, 19, of Redford Barracks, Edinburgh, that a condition of his bail would be that he must not enter the city.

He also ordered him to remain within the barracks between 7pm-7am every day.

Williams denies charges of stalking Milena Milutina and breaching special bail conditions by entering West Park Hall Flats in Perth Road on October 20-21 and attempting to contact her; and on both dates and at the same place, causing her fear and alarm by leaving a teddy bear and his Army necklace and notes addressed to her, attending there with a self-inflicted puncture wound in his thigh, repeatedly requesting entry to the flats, repeatedly staring at her and repeatedly asking personal questions about her, all while on bail.

Solicitor Stuart Hamilton told the court Williams, a private in the Army, was suffering from mental health problems.

Trial was set for November 24, with an intermediate diet on November 2.
