A significant section of a major road in Dundee will be closed for more than a month to enable the next phase of a new housing project to get underway.
About 330 yards of Old Glamis Road is now shut northbound, beyond the street’s junction with Balgowan Avenue.
It will be closed for the next five weeks to allow kerbing and drainage works to go ahead for the next stage of local firm H&H Properties’ development on the western edge of Old Glamis Road.
The closure does not affect traffic travelling southbound towards the roundabout.
It will be the fourth phase in the project to create 85 homes on the site which lies between Old Glamis Road and Balgowan Avenue, many of which have already been snapped up.
Plans to build on the land – now home to the newly-named Oban Terrace Avenue – were approved in 2008 and later extended in 2013.
