Bookies have slashed the odds on Alan Stubbs being named the new Dundee United boss

Dundee United’s manager search took another twist today when Alan Stubbs re-emerged as a strong candidate with punters.

Heavy betting on the former Hibs boss saw his odds slashed from 16/1 to 7/4 in the space of an hour over lunch-time.

The latest odds on the United manager’s position.

And there were rumours the 46-year-old had been offered the job.

All that was despite the fact just a week ago he ruled himself out of the running during a live television interview.
