Shocked residents watched in horror as two gangs of youths were involved in a fight in Dundee.
The incident happened on Loon’s Road just after 8pm on Sunday night, with one of the thugs involved thought to have been brandishing a baseball bat.
Christopher Ireland, 31, witnessed the situation escalate as the two gangs clashed outside his house.
He said: “There were about 20 young guys in total. One group came from one direction and another from the opposite direction.
“They started fighting just outside my house. They were running all over the road. There was a big fight that followed. It looked like gangs.
“I watched the whole thing on CCTV.
“One lad came running into my back garden and left blood all over my gate so it looked like somebody had definitely been hurt in the incident.
“It was shocking to watch. When the police arrived the youths all ran off but I saw the cops get hold of one of the lads and put him into the back of their van.”
Mr Ireland added: “It was frightening to watch and I felt quite shaken by everything that happened. It was all really crazy.
“I saw the police chasing the boys into my back garden. I was shocked to see blood on my garden gate.
“After the youths ran off, the police seemed to drive around the area for some time afterwards as if they were looking for someone.
“At one point there were two police vans and a car with several officers involved.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers attended in the Gardner Street / Loon’s Road area of Dundee at around 8.30pm in response to a reported disturbance.
“A number of people were seen to be involved but made off on the arrival of the police.
“A 19-year-old male was traced and arrested in relation to outstanding unrelated matters and inquiries into the incident are continuing.”
