At least seven cars have been broken into in the West End of Dundee overnight.
The spate of break-ins saw all vehicles have windows smashed for the thief to gain entry.
More than half a dozen vehicles were targeted on Tuesday night into today.
Cars in City Road, Taits Lane, Corso Street, Sutherland Crescent, Balgay Road and Abbotsford Street were affected.
Police say there could be more incidents which have yet to be reported.
Officers are now on the hunt for a man who was seen looking into cars in the area.
He is described as about 5ft 8in and was wearing a black padded jacket and dark trousers, carrying a black duffle bag.
A spokesman for the force added: “Please ensure that when you park your car you do not leave any valuables or eye-catching items out on display in the cabin of the vehicle, and that it is properly locked.
“While locking your car obviously won’t prevent a window being smashed, it does mean that any potential thief would need to make a lot of noise and potentially attract attention to what they’re doing.
“If your car has been targeted, please let us know. If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer. information can be given anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/25860/18.”
