Reports of whale intestines washed up on Monifieth beach have been dealt with by Angus Council.
Five or six collections of the intestines were spread along the beach after a sperm whale was found on the shore.
The whale, which was measured to be around 40ft, was found beached at Barry Buddon, near Monifieth, on March 21.
However, it has since been reported that intestines and chunks of whale meat had been spotted on the sand.
Resident and secretary of Monifieth Community Council, John Thornton, spotted the intestines last Wednesday.
He contacted SEPA who got in touch with Angus Council.
John said that, when he checked on Monday evening, the area looked to have been cleared up.
