Priceless Second World War medals were among a haul of items stolen from a Tayside home at the weekend.

Police have launched an investigation after the raid on Viewlands Road West, Perth sometime between 4pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday.

As well as the medals, a number of items including jewellery and electronic goods were taken.

Officers believe those responsible may have made a racket in the process of getting into the house.

A spokesman for Police Scotland Tayside Division added: “It is thought that the person(s) responsible may have made quite a bit of noise in gaining entry, and may have been in the property for some time before making off.

“If anyone has information about this incident which could help our enquiry, please call 101 or speak with any Police officer. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 333 111. Our reference is CR/27526/17.”
