A second man has been arrested over an alleged armed robbery at Gleneagles Hotel.

A group allegedly raided the Mappin & Webb store in the five-star Perth and Kinross hotel on June 27.

Police Scotland launched a large-scale investigation and an arrest was made in July.

Richard Fleming, 41 and from London, faced seven charges, including two of housebreaking and assault, during a private appearance at Perth Sheriff Court.

He was also charged with being in possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Fleming made no plea and was remanded in custody.

A 29-year-old man from London has now also been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday.
