A second man has been charged after a Dundee man was found dead in a local home.
Police launched a major investigation after the body of John Donachy, originally from the Hilltown, was found at a house in Hazel Court, Alyth.
Murray Fotheringham, 35, appeared at court yesterday charged with the murder of the 26-year-old on Saturday, March 3
And a second man, Lee Winters, 36, from Alyth, faces a separate charge of assault. He was released on bail.
Fotheringham is charged with punching Mr Donachy on the head and body before striking him with a knife, murdering him.
He appeared from custody at a private hearing at Perth Sheriff Court in front of Sheriff Gillian Wade where no plea or declaration was made.
Fotheringham was ordered to remain in custody with a further court date still to be set.
