Robbie Neilson has agreed to become Dundee United’s new manager.
As the Tele exclusively revealed last night, after a weekend of talks with chairman Mike Martin, the former Hearts boss emerged as the preferred candidate to succeed Csaba Laszlo.
And we understand, the 38-year-old has told United he is ready to take on the task.
He could be assisted in that by former Scotland striker Stevie Crawford, with whom he has worked with previously and who, like Neilson, also had a brief spell as a United player.
Interim boss Laurie Ellis will remain an important part of the coaching staff at first team level.
The pair are likely to be unveiled in the next 24 hours and should be in the dugout when the Tangerines travel to Partick Thistle on Saturday.
