The countdown to the V&A Dundee opening weekend is well and truly under way and organisers for the 3D festival have announced stage times of the main acts a week on Saturday.
As many as 20,000 people are expected to descend on the Waterfront next week for the sold-out celebration of music and arts from T in the Park promoter DF Concerts and V&A Dundee’s Young People’s Collective.
Scottish music legends Primal Scream will headline the Slessor Gardens event on the Friday evening before a day of performances and workshops on Saturday September 15, when the museum officially opens.
Danny Wilson frontman Gary Clark will play on Saturday, along with Be Charlotte and Kyle Falconer – who has just been unveiled today.
Falconer said he was “proud” to be a part of the historic event.
He added: “This brilliant addition to Dundee will provide a place of creative inspiration to many as the city itself has for me. I’m ecstatic to be celebrating all things Dundee and showcasing this beautiful city to a global audience.”
Event chiefs have now revealed stage timings for the Saturday to allow people to plan their day the best they can.
The main stage times are as follows:
- 11.00 – SHHE
- 11.50 – Kashmir Crows
- 12.40 – St Martiins
- 13.30 – Andrew Wasylyk
- 14.30 – Kyle Falconer
- 15.30 – Be Charlotte
- 16:30 – Gary Clark
- 16.50 – Gary Clark & Sistema
As well as musical performances there will also be new dance, design and lighting collaborations, putting the audience and the museum at the heart of the show.
Everyone attending the sell-out event on Friday September 14 is advised to get down early when gates open at 5.30pm so as not to miss the full experience.
